I welcome any and all letters, postcards, telegrams, message-carrying birds, etc.
List of things that would be good for care packages:
- Any magazines from the US. Newsweek, National Geographic, and Men's Health are my top choices.
- Paperbacks. Unless I can find a foreign-run book store in Fort Dauphin, reading fodder is going to be pretty limited at my site.
- Posters for my house. True Blood, Doctor Who, Firefly; shots of Virginia, Florida, France, Spain, Niger, Scotland; maps of those places; quotes from famous people. Chances are, if it's nerdy, I'll love it. Posters don't have to be big. In fact, I think I'd prefer lots of smaller posters.
- Any other small decorations for my house.
- As a rule, I prefer dried fruit over candy. The exception would be some really good German- or Swiss-made chocolate. For food, energy bars and beef jerky are also good choices.
